TEACHERS

YR

' Our Reception children loved meeting Elaine and listening to her read the story 'Oh No, Charley Farley'. We have since read some of Elaine's other books in class and the children have loved them. They have been drawing pictures of Charley Farley.'  Lucy Ashley, Reception teacher

Y1

'The children in Year 1 loved the story 'Don't be scared Charley Farley'. They enjoyed doing activities with Elaine about the story. We have had lots of discussions of what we do when we feel scared.''  Ayesha Quyoom, (Year 1 teacher)

Y5

Elaine came to our year 5 class and read her book to them. The children were engaged and thoroughly enjoyed that the dogs in the books were her own pets at home. She showed a video of them which was a lovely touch as it gave the children a visual. Elaine engaged the children in a story planning task which inspired the children to write their own short stories. The children continued to talk about their own stories after the session. Miss S Sharpe (Year 5 teacher)

Y6

The Year 6 children thoroughly enjoyed reading and listening to Elaine's book 'It's OK to Feel Sad, Charlie Farley'. They particularly enjoyed that her stories were based on real life, especially her family as the human characters. They were inspired to plan their own stories about what Charlie Farley might do next, and are looking forward to Elaine's next Charlie Farley book, as well as her next series of books being released! Mrs J Rooney (Year 6 teacher)
